NEW YORK, July 1 (RIA Novosti) - At least seven teenagers were wounded after two gunmen opened fire at a bus stop near a school in the U.S. city of Detroit, local media said citing police.
The shooting occurred near the Cody Ninth Grade Academy in the west of the city on Tuesday, Detroit Free Press said.
Five of the victims, all aged between 14 and 17, had just left their summer classes when they were shot by two armed people.
The attackers were traveling in a green minivan and "asked for a person by name'' before shooting 15 rounds of ammunition.
Three of the injured are in a critical state, according to hospital sources.
An eyewitness Bria Wilson, 15, said she was standing at the bus stop next to her 16-year-old friend when the shooting occurred.
She said her friend was shot four times. "That bullet came too close. I'm not coming back to this school."
Shootings in academic facilities occur with alarming regularity in the United States.
