CAIRO, July 22 (RIA Novosti) - A traffic accident in southern Egypt on Wednesday left 13 people dead and 24 injured, MENA news agency reported.
A bus collided with a truck in Al Wadi al Jadid province on Wednesday morning. Three of 24 injured people were in critical condition.
About 30,000 traffic accidents occur in Egypt annually. Some 8,000 people died on Egypt's roads in 2008, with authorities blaming poorly maintained vehicles and reckless driving as the main causes.
A week ago eight tourists from Serbia died in a major car accident near the Red Sea.
