
CHELYABINSK, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - A total of 21.6 kg (47.4 pounds) of heroin, hidden under onions, have been seized from a resident of the Urals city of Chelyabinsk, the regional FSB department said on Monday.
The man from Tajikistan's northernmost province of Sughd, who has dual Russian-Tajik citizenship, had stored the drugs in his garage.
He was detained while attempting to sell the first package of 2.9 kg (6.4 lbs) near the city's railway station. The buyer was also arrested.
