Two children injured in hit-and-run car accident in Moscow

Two 11-year-old children were injured in a hit-and-run car accident in northern Moscow, police said Sunday.

MOSCOW, September 13 (RIA Novosti) - Two 11-year-old children were injured in a hit-and-run car accident in northern Moscow, police said Sunday.

A police spokesman said a Lexus car whose license plate contained the figure "585" hit a boy and a girl at a pedestrian crossing and escaped.

Later the suspected car was discovered near the accident scene, but without the license plate and with no driver behind the wheel.

An investigation is underway.
