At least 18 injured as train hits bumper in U.S.

At total of 13 people were hospitalized, nine of them were taken away on backboards. Five passengers, who suffered minor injuries, refused medical treatment.
© REUTERS/ Chip EastMOSCOW, September 16 (RIA Novosti) - At least 18 people were injured when a commuter train hit a bumper at a railway station in Boston, U.S., the Boston Globe has said.
The incident occurred at the South Station during the morning rush hour on Tuesday. The train, with at least 300 passengers was moving at a speed of less than 5 mph when it hit a metal bumper post at the end of the track.
"It just stopped short as it was coming in very slowly into the station," a passenger was quoted as saying. "It hit hard, it stopped suddenly. A bunch of people went flying."
At total of 13 people were hospitalized, of whom nine of them were taken away on stretchers. Five passengers who suffered minor injuries.
Operators' error is seen as a possible cause of the accident.
