MOSCOW, September 29 (RIA Novosti) - A fire at a pipeline near Moscow, in which one person was killed, has been put out, a spokesman for the regional emergencies service said on Tuesday.
"Gas supplies have been cut off. The blaze has been extinguished," Mikhail Mironov said.
A driver lost control of his car and crashed into the pipeline at the Novorizhskoe highway some 32 km (20 miles) northwest of Moscow. The explosion was followed by fire with flames raging at the height of 30-40 meters (100-130 feet).
Firemen continue to cool down the pipe to prevent possible re-ignition.
