At least 14 killed, 38 injured in Venezuela bus accident

© RIA Novosti.BUENOS AIRES, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - At least 14 people were killed and 38 injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a car in Venezuela's western state of Barinas, the country's VTV radio has reported.
"A total of 14 people have been killed and 38 injured as a result of a head-on collision between an intercity coach and a Renault Clio car," a road police spokesman told the radio station on Saturday.
He added that the death toll "might rise" as some of the injured are in "serious condition."
The incident occurred due to the bus driver's apparent speeding while performing an overtaking maneuver.
Associated Press reported that 16 people were killed and 28 injured in the accident.
