One killed in Moscow apartment block fire

One person died and one was injured in a fire in a 12-story apartment block in Moscow on Wednesday, emergencies services said.

MOSCOW, November 4 (RIA Novosti) - One person died and one was injured in a fire in a 12-story apartment block in Moscow on Wednesday, emergencies services said.

Spokesman Yevgeny Bobylyov said the fire occurred on Prostornaya Street in Moscow's east, adding that some 30 apartment residents were evacuated.

One person jumped out of the window of an apartment on fire on the third floor before firefighters arrived. He was being examined by medics.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.
