One killed, 67 injured as bus crashes into truck in Chile

One person was killed and 67 injured in a traffic accident on Tuesday 150 km west of Chilean capital Santiago, the Cooperativa radio reported Wednesday.

The accident took place on Highway 60 near the city of Vina del Mar in Valparaiso Province. An intercity bus smashed into a parked water tank truck.

A communal service worker who watered trees planted on the roadside died on the site. Sixty-five bus passengers and the two drivers were hospitalized.

The highway has been closed for traffic. An investigation is underway.
