One killed, three injured in Hungarian university shooting

A student was killed and three other people were injured when an unidentified gunman opened fire at a university in the southern Hungarian city of Pecs on Thursday, a university spokesman said.

A student was killed and three other people were injured when an unidentified gunman opened fire at a university in the southern Hungarian city of Pecs on Thursday, a university spokesman said.

A 23-year-old medical student apparently opened fire during pharmacy classes and subsequently surrendered to police.

"He suddenly picked up a gun and started shooting," Zoltan Gyorffy said.

A student, a teacher and a cleaner were injured. Doctors said one of them is in a critical condition, while the two others received serious injuries.
