Unidentified assailants killed one person and injured three others when they opened fire at a car in Russia’s North Caucasus republic of Dagestan early on Tuesday, police said.
“The incident happened at around 1 a.m. in the Derbentsky district. The criminals fired from a wooded area,” a spokesman said.
There was no immediate information on the conditions of the wounded.
Dagestan and Ingushetia, another North Caucasus republic, have seen frequent attacks on police, troops and officials in recent years.
