Two Moscow police officers have been charged with kidnapping a businessman and demanding a million dollar ransom for his release, an investigation source told RIA Novosti on Friday.
Investigators say the west Moscow officers seized the businessman on August 4 and took him to a village near the capital
“The officers held their captive for 15 days and demanded a million dollars from his relatives for his release. The detained man was released during a special operation,” the source said.
A west Moscow police department head has also been detained on suspicion of involvement in the crime.
