One man was killed and seven wounded, including a 13-year-old teenager, after an unknown suspect opened fire at the Eaton Center shopping mall in Canada’s Toronto, the Toronto Star daily reported.
According to the daily, one of the wounded is in a life-threatening condition and two more are in critical condition.
Multiple police crews are at the scene and as the interior search of the facility has been already completed, policemen failed to find the suspect and he remains at large.
The daily also said that a pregnant woman close to the site of the shooting, which began in the food court of the mall, reportedly went into labor after the gun fire began.
A police command post has been set up near the mall with investigators questioning witnesses of the shooting.
