KIEV, August 10 (RIA Novosti) - Milla Jovovich, a celebrated actress and model, will arrive in Crimea (Ukraine) to attend the 80th anniversary celebration of the Artek international children's camp.

Organizers of the celebration have received an official confirmation from Jovovich, who starred in Return to the Blue Lagoon, The Fifth Element, and The Story of Joan of Arc.

Milla said her mother, actress Galina Loginova, has decided to join her in Ukraine. Loginova emigrated from the USSR together with her husband and five-year-old daughter in 1980.

Jovovich said she was going to attend the Artek celebration with her mother. She has heard a lot about the huge children's camp but has never been there. Now she said she had a good reason to go.

Jovovich has not been back to Kiev since she was a child. She said she would love for her homeland to be a beautiful, rich, and happy place. She said she followed the revolution in Ukraine and looked forward to seeing the changes.

Jovovich said it was a brilliant idea to celebrate the anniversary of the famous children's camp on such a large scale, as it would certainly bring political and cultural benefits to Ukraine.

The Artek anniversary will be marked on August 18. About a hundred celebrities from all over the world will attend the event. The organizers said Patricia Kaas, a renowned French singer, was on the guest list, too.
