Alice Cooper says welcome to my nightmare Moscow

21:45 20/11/2007
MOSCOW, November 20 (RIA Novosti) - Famous proto-shock rocker Alice Cooper is again in the capital of Russia November 21-22 to give two nights of scary performances as part of his Psycho-Drama world tour 2007.

Speaking at a Tuesday press conference, the 59-year-old rock star, who has played in Moscow twice before in 2000 and 2002, said he liked performing here and really rates the energetic Russian audience.

"The audience is like in the mid-West in the U.S.," he said. "We [the musicians] are expecting high energy from them."

The legendary showman, who inspired such rock musicians as Kiss, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie and many others, said he was inspired by the famous Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali.

He said that with his shows and music he wanted the audience to use their imagination just like looking at Dali's masterpieces: "As an artist I make you use your imagination."

When asked about his other plans while in Moscow, Cooper said that he plans to spend most of the time shopping with his wife and daughter, who are accompanying him on this tour.

"I am doing my Christmas shopping. Everyone has asked me to bring something from Russia," Cooper said adding that he really admired Moscow, which "in the last 10 years has become more vital, more energized."

After the Moscow concerts Alice Cooper will move onto Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia and Estonia.
