MOSCOW, July 14 (RIA Novosti) - Russian boxing giant Nikolai Valuev has recorded a hip-hop track with a member of the Moscow-based pop group Chelsea, Russian media said on Tuesday.
Dan Petroff was quoted as saying that the idea for a track about the world of boxing came to him a few months ago. After he had written the lyrics, he called "Beast from the East" Valuev and read the words to him.
"That's all true. I like it! We'll work together," the 2.13m (7-foot) reigning two-time WBA champion is reported to have said.
The track was recorded on July 10 and a video is to be filmed in the near future.
This is not Valuev's first foray into the world of entertainment. In 2008 he starred as a boxer with memory problems in Stonehead, a film by Russian director Philip Yankovsky. While reviews were mixed, the film took first place at the Window to Europe film festival in Vyborg, near Russia's border with Finland.
