Oscar-winning film director Nikita Mikhalkov denied on Wednesday media reports that he plans to shoot a new WWII drama starring Angelina Jolie.
"That's the first time I hear about this. [Newspapers] can write anything," Mikhalkov told RIA Novosti.
The Komsomolskaya Pravda daily reported on Tuesday that the movie Love and War will be a joint Russian-Italian-Moldovan project, which involves Mikhalkov and Italian and Moldovan directors Francesco Gagliardi and Valeriu Jereghi.
Jolie has been allegedly invited to play a school teacher, who witnessed the executions of her family and whose fiance was killed at the beginning of World War II.
Mikhakov said he had no time to tackle new projects as he was working on Burnt by the Sun 2, a sequel to the movie that won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film in 1994. He said the sequel will be released in two parts in May and December 2010.
