World Expo 2010 will open in Shanghai on May 1. The Russia Pavilion, one of the most stunning and amazing buildings at the exhibition, will open to the public on the same day.

The 6,000-square-meter pavilion resembles the sun in that twelve gold-plated towers encircle a huge central structure. Six of the towers display achievements of Russia’s regions, the others will host restaurants and crafts exhibitions. The pavilion’s interior is decorated with fairytale images and displays the inventions of Russia’s largest state corporations and companies.
It has not yet been decided what will happen to the pavilion after the exhibition closes. It could stay in Shanghai or be dismantled and moved to Russia.
World Expo 2010 will take place from May 1 to October 31. 192 countries and 49 international organizations will take part in the exhibition dedicated to urban civilization. The Shanghai World Expo is expected to attract 70 million visitors during 184 days of its work.
