The Russian Expo club started its work at the Shanghai World Expo-2010 on Sunday, gathering leading Russian experts in the sphere of the exhibition industry.
Over 40 Russian specialists will take part in the four-day discussion of the voluntary group to analyze the work of Russia and other countries at the fair and to give their advice on how to improve Russia’s preparation process.
Opening the first session, the general commissar of the Russian section at Expo-2010, Vladimir Strashko, told the participants about the results of Russia’s participation at the Expo-2010 during the four months of the fair.
The experts said although the Russian pavilion was built within a short period of time and the concept of the pavilion was changed several times, Russia managed to open the exposition on time and make a good showing.
The members of the Russian Expo club are later to meet with their Chinese colleagues from the Exhibition center at the Shanghai Expo and President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yevgeny Primakov.
The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai until October 31. Up to 70 million people are expected to visit the city for the event, which has seen investment of up to $4 billion. Over 200 countries, corporations and international organizations are taking part.
Russia constructed a pavilion at the exhibition for the first time in 30 years. The sun-shaped building comprises 12 white-and-gold towers symbolizing the 12 months of the year and occupies an area of 6,000 square meters.
The Russian pavilion is considered one of the most popular and innovative at the Expo and attracts about 40,000 visitors every day, with the total number closing in on 5 million.
