The Shanghai World Expo-2010 teaches global community peace and harmony, the deputy director of exhibition’s executive committee said.

“The size, the political role and the level of economic development of any participant country are of no importance for China, as all are equal here,” Zhou Hanmin said.

Zhou said that 19 of the 23 countries with which China does not have diplomatic relations are participating in the exhibition. 

“They all come to China and see that we speak about the necessity of peaceful and harmonic development,” Zhou said.

The Expo-2010 exhibition is of importance not only for Shanghai, where it is held, but for all of China. During the Expo-2010, China has really become a dialogue venue for the fair’s participants, Zhou said.

The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Over 200 countries, corporations and international organizations are taking part in the Expo. Over 48 million people have visited the event since its opening.
