MOSCOW, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - A Ukrainian national, wearing three pairs of trousers and over 12 pairs of underpants, tried to sneak a load of contraband clothes across the border under the noses of Belarusian border guards, local media said on Monday.
The smuggler aroused suspicion as he appeared to be wearing far too many clothes for the time of year, a Belarusian border guard spokesperson said.
On closer inspection the man was found to be wearing four tracksuits, three pairs of trousers and 15 pairs of underpants.
A search of the Ukrainian national's vehicle revealed around $20,000 worth of contraband goods in total.
The clothes and goods were seized and the case handed over to the country's customs authorities.
