KIEV, September 7 (RIA Novosti) - As many as 48 children hit by the recent food poisoning in Ukraine's Black Sea peninsula of the Crimea remain hospitalized, local emergencies services said on Monday.

A total of 195 children aged between 1 and 6 from the city of Dzhankoi were hospitalized with suspected food poisoning last week.

"As of 07:00 local time (04:00 GMT) on September 7, 48 children remained in hospital," the emergencies ministry said in a statement, adding that none of the children was in a grave condition.

A hospital spokesperson said earlier that the three nurseries the children attended all received food from the same supplier.

A government commission led by Ukrainian Health Minister Vasyl Knyazevych has been set up to investigate the incident, and a criminal probe is also underway.
