Ukraine's opposition Party of Regions could form a coalition and dismiss the present government next week, the party's deputy chairman said on Wednesday.
"We believe that a coalition will be formed soon, and the government will subsequently be dismissed. This might take place next week," Anna German said.
The party's leader, Viktor Yanukovych, narrowly won Ukraine's presidential elections with 48.95% of the vote in second round runoff on February 7, according to preliminary results.
Supporters of Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who is 3.48 points behind Yanukovych, have demanded a recount, saying they have evidence of violations at hundreds of polling stations.
