The Russian airline safety rating is based on the results of inspections of civilian aircraft at Russian airports from October 24, 2008 through October 25, 2009. Inspections are made according to common procedures for Russia and member countries of the European Civil Aviation Conference. Inspections cover both Russian aircraft and jets owned by foreign airlines.
