The Iranian Navy reiterated on Monday plans to extend its presence in international waters, including the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, south of the Indian Ocean and the South Pole, Press TV reported.
Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said the Navy has the capability to extend its presence to the international waters in various locations in the world.
“International waters belong to all countries and we will be present in the international waters in order to protect our interests,” he added.
“We have achieved the capability of designing and building advanced destroyers, such as the Sahand, which we are fitting with modern equipment daily.”
