Rogozin Proposes Body to Analyze Threats to National Security

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on Friday proposed setting up a strategic planning agency to analyze threats to Russia's national and technological security.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on Friday proposed setting up a strategic planning agency to analyze threats to Russia's national and technological security.

The agency’s functions would be to “assess possible ways of the development of the situation in the world in the security area and determine risks and threats to Russia's national defense capability and technological independence within at least 30 years or possibly even a longer period of time," Rogozin said at a plenary meeting of the Academy of Military Sciences.

“This body will work under the aegis of the Government Military-Industrial Commission’s Scientific and Technical Council,” Rogozin later said n his twitter.
