MOSCOW, July 23 (RIA Novosti) - Four people died and at least 53 are missing after a landslide in southwest China's Sichuan Province, the Xinhua news agency reported on Thursday.
All victims were carrying out repair works on a highway in Kangding County on Thursday morning when the landslide was triggered by heavy rains.
Four people were injured, Xinhua said, adding that 97 people have been rescued by emergency workers.
Torrential rains in southwest China since beginning of July have caused landslides and flooding. Ten tourists were washed away in a river in the region earlier in the month.
