G8 hosts session with leaders of African nations

HEILIGENDAMM, June 8 (RIA Novosti) - Leaders of the Group of Eight most industrialized countries have begun a session with leaders of leading African nations within the framework of the G8 summit in Germany.
The main issues on the agenda of the session are cooperation between the G8 and Africa, health and the fight against poverty.
Africa is the world region most affected by infectious diseases. Inhabited by just over 12% of the world's population, it is estimated to have more than 60% of the AIDS-infected population.
