This year’s ceremony highlighted the social aspects of the event.

This year’s ceremony highlighted the social aspects of the event.
The manifestation included high priests from the Russian Orthodox Church, representatives of the Young Guards movement, the St. George Orthodox youth movement, the Transfiguration of Russia charity organization, as well as scouts, cadets and Moscow students.
A delegation of young parishioners from the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia led by Protopriest Andrei Sommer, deputy chairman of the Synodal Youth Department, has come to Moscow for the celebrations.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, upper house Speaker Sergei Mironov, Culture Minister Alexander Avdeyev and other officials took part in the opening ceremony of the Days of Slavic Alphabet and Culture in Moscow.
