Love or title? Unequal marriages in royal families

Unequal marriages among the members of ruling monarchies are no longer a surprise to anyone. Some 25 years ago, the bride of a royal groom needed not only to have an untarnished reputation but also to come from aristocratic stock. Today, however, genealogy has given way to romance. For example, Prince Albert II of Monaco is engaged to former South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock. Their wedding is scheduled for summer 2011.
