The Korean conflict has flared up once again. On November 23, North Korea fired artillery shells at South Korea's Yeonpyeong Island, further straining relations between the two Korean states. Authorities in Seoul said the attack could have been provoked by South Korean war games held off the island, and put their armed forces on red alert.
