Obama, Romney Tied Up in Chances to Win Election - Poll

With the US presidential election just around the corner, a CNN survey shows that President Barack Obama and his Republican rival Mitt Romney have almost equal chances to win the race.

WASHINGTON, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - With the US presidential election just around the corner, a CNN survey shows that President Barack Obama and his Republican rival Mitt Romney have almost equal chances to win the race.

According to the poll, 49 percent of potential voters are ready to cast their votes for either Obama or Romney.

The poll was conducted on November 2-4, just two days before the election and after hurricane Sandy devastated the eastern part of the United States leaving at least 50 killed and causing damages worth some $20 billion.

According to the poll, 68 percent of the surveyed approved how Obama handled the situation during the storm, while 15 percent disapproved.

According to another poll, conducted by NBC News/Wall Street Journal, Obama has the support of 48 percent of likely voters and Romney enjoys the support of 47 percent.
