MOSCOW, May 8 (RIA Novosti) – Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with UK Prime Minister David Cameron on May 10 in Moscow, the Kremlin press service said on Wednesday.

“Vladimir Putin will meet on May 10, 2013 with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron, who will be in Russia on a working visit,” the Kremlin said in a statement posted on its website, without giving further details.

The UK premier told the House of Commons earlier in the day that he would fly to Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Sochi to discuss the Syrian conflict.

"There's an urgent need to start a proper negotiation to force a political transition and to bring this conflict to an end, and I will be flying to Sochi on Friday to meet with President Putin to discuss this issue further," Cameron said.

The internal conflict in Syria was high on the agenda of US Secretary of State John Kerry’s Moscow visit that began on Tuesday.

At a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Kerry said Russia and the United States would set up an international conference on Syria by the end of this month that would hopefully include representatives of the Syrian government and opposition.
