RUSSIA'S GROSS NATIONAL INCOME IS ON 16TH POSITION IN THE WORLD
MOSCOW, April 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's gross national income is the 16th largest in the world, being the 97th in the average per-capita income, says the World Bank report on development indicators world-wide.
According to the report, Russia's gross national income in 2003 constituted $374.8 billion with average annual per-capita income $2,610.
The World Bank cites Russia among the ten countries having the largest gold and currency reserves - $78,409 billion in 2003. Among the ten are also Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hsiangkang (Hong Kong), India, Germany, and Singapore.
Transitional European and Central Asian economies continued powerful rehabilitation and in 2003 increased by an impressive 5.8%, following the average 3.3% in 2000-2002. Russia has also gained a success with a 7.3% growth in 2003, which is an increase following the 4.7% growth in 2002, but still less than 10% in 2000, the report of the World Bank says.
