BALUYEVSKY REPORTS ON SHORT POWER OUTAGE AT CENTRAL COMMAND POST OF GENERAL STAFF
MOSCOW, May 25 (RIA Novosti) - The central command post of the Russian General Staff was hit by a short power outage caused by the accident at the Chagino substation, chief of staff Yuri Baluyevsky said on Tuesday. "The two-minute outage happened last night at the central command post of the General Staff. I received a relevant report of the general-on-duty," Baluyevsky said. According to Andrei Trapeznikov, a member of the RAO UES board, the outage was caused by a short circuit at the Chagino substation in Kapotnya (Moscow's south-east) last night.
Chagino staff dealt with the short circuit consequences themselves and repaired the equipment, he added.
The fire was supposedly caused by the outdated equipment of the substation opened in 1963.
