MOSCOW, September 2 (RIA Novosti) - Beslan survivors who had a three-hour meeting with President Vladimir Putin in Moscow Friday said the conversation was very open and they hoped the flaws in the investigation would be corrected."The sincerity [of the meeting] struck me and all my fellow countrymen," Taimuraz Mamsurov, the president of the North Ossetian republic of Russia (where Beslan is located), said.

Mamsurov said all the questions were asked, and they were adequately answered regardless of their tone and content.

He said the investigation would proceed in a different way after today's meeting with the president.

Viktor Yesiyev, a Beslan resident, said the president had answered all the questions.

Sussana Dudiyeva, a Beslan mother, said: "We said everything we wanted to say at the meeting... We talked about responsibility, about the children [who survived the siege] and have to carry on in life, we talked about the victims who died young, we talked about irresponsibility and negligence." She said she felt that the president had really listened to them carefully.

Another woman, Anneta Gadiyeva, told reporters: "We all could say what we wanted. I said everything that haunted me. Time will show what effect it will have."

The Beslan hostage tragedy officially claimed the lives of 330 people, including 186 children. Terrorists held parents, pupils and staff hostage for three days in a local school before troops stormed the building. In all, 918 people were rescued.
