Russia to send three transport aircrafts of aid to U.S.

MOSCOW, September 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's Emergency Situations Ministry will send two Il-76 transport aircraft to deliver electric generators, food, water, bandages and tents to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit the city on August 26.

"The United States has agreed to accept Russian humanitarian aid for hurricane survivors," ministry spokesman Viktor Beltsov said.
