Bird flu confirmed in 48 Russian towns and villages

MOSCOW, September 15 (RIA Novosti) - Bird flu has been registered in 48 towns and villages in the Urals and Western Siberia, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight said Thursday. Quarantine has been cancelled in 22 towns and villages that were earlier considered to pose a threat. Another 81 villages are suspected of bird flu outbreaks.
