VLADIVOSTOK, September 20 (RIA Novosti, Veronika Perminova) - Russia's Pacific Ocean port of Vladivostok hosted a ceremony Tuesday to see off a detachment of the Russian Pacific Fleet on a long-distance voyage.

"This voyage will show the Russian flag in the world's oceans and will be the continuation of maritime diplomacy," the press service of the Pacific Fleet said. "The voyage aims to develop international relations and improve stability in the Asian-Pacific region."

The detachment includes a missile cruiser, two anti-submarine ships, a medium-sized sea tanker and a tugboat.

The ships will visit India, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand between September 20 and December 14. From October 17 through 19, the sailors will take part in Russia-Indonesian military exercises, Indra-2005.

The ships then will pay a visit to the Indonesian port of Jakarta and on to Singapore. This will be the first official Russian Navy visit to Singapore.

On November 15-20, the ships will dock in Thailand's port of Sattahip and then head for Hai Phong, Vietnam.
