Russian oil and gas reserves are underestimated -- Putin

MOSCOW, September 27 (RIA Novosti)-Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that the country's stocks of oil and natural gas were underestimated and that they would be enough for coming generations.

"They are larger than we think and they will be enough for us and coming generations," Putin said speaking on live television and radio. "Of course, we must treat them carefully, but it is also necessary to change the energy balance in the country."
