Russian planes fly to India to participate in joint anti-terrorist exercise

MOSCOW, October 9 (RIA Novosti) - Three Il-86 planes of the Russian Air Force flew to India to participate in the Indra-2005 first Russian-Indian anti-terrorist exercise, Air Force commander Vladimir Mikhailov said.
The planes will deliver 100 paratroopers, three armored vehicles and 20 tons of technical cargo to India, he said adding that six An-32 planes of the Indian Air Force would also take part in the exercise.
The Indra-2005 exercise that runs through October 19 also involves 1,600 Russian troops and five warships of the country's Pacific Fleet.
