MOSCOW, October 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's large anti-submarine ship, the Admiral Levchenko, has departed from Severomorsk for the Barents Sea to provide surveillance of Russia's territorial waters, an assistant to the chief of the navy said Tuesday.

Captain 1st Class Igor Dygalo said the ship would conduct surveillance of Russia's territorial waters to prevent the unauthorized entry of foreign ships.

He added that the ship's mission was not related to the incident of the Russian trawler in the Barents Sea.

"The Navy is not interfering in the situation with the Elektron trawler. Russia's foreign policy departments are resolving that issue," Dygalo said.
