MOSCOW, October 27 (RIA Novosti) - The Aeroflot Board of Directors has approved the lease of five new Airbus A320-200 jets from Ireland-based RBS Aerospace Limited, the press service of Russia's major air carrier said Thursday.
"The airline is expected to receive the jets in September 2006 - June 2007, and they will be in operation for 10 years," the press service said.
The board also decided to set up a subsidiary, Aeroflot-Cargo, and approved the strategy committee's recommendations on the consolidation of aviation enterprises.
Aeroflot will cooperate with the relevant federal bodies and Russian civil aviation companies on the consolidation.
