MOSCOW, November 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia supports the initiative of the Arab League to hold a conference on national reconciliation in Iraq with the country's influential political forces, including the opposition, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Saturday.
"The Arab League's initiative is in many respects consonant with our approach to the Iraqi settlement," ministry spokesman Mikhail Kamynin said in a statement.
Kamynin said representatives of the leading Iraqi parties were to meet in Egypt in November to discuss conference prospects.
