BUSAN (South Korea), November 19 (RIA Novosti, Alexei Yefimov) - Governor of the Maritime territory in Russia's Far East Sergei Darkin proposed Saturday banning crab fishing in the region for five years.
"Otherwise, we will lose the crab population as it happened in Japan," he said.
Darkin said Russia was discussing the problem with its neighbors. A big amount of crab caught in the Russian Far East is being smuggled to South Korea and resold to Japan, he added.
