Putin nominates new head of Altai Republic

MOSCOW, December 13 (RIA Novosti) - President Vladimir Putin has nominated Federal Inspector for the Altai Territory Alexander Berdnikov for head of the Altai Republic in southern Siberia, the Kremlin press service said Tuesday.

The term of current head of the republic Mikhail Lapshin expires January 6, 2006.
