MOSCOW, January 1 (RIA Novosti) - Russian energy giant Gazprom, citing preliminary reports, accused Ukraine of starting to tap Russian natural gas bound for Europe, the press secretary said.

"Ukraine has reportedly started tapping Russian gas intended for European consumers," Sergei Kupriyanov said.

"The figures, the exact volume of gas Ukraine stole today will be available January 2," he added.
