Russian president wishes Israeli premier fast recovery

MOSCOW, January 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russian President Vladimir Putin wished Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon fast recovery after a surgery following a massive stroke, the president's press service said.

Sharon was hospitalized Wednesday night after a massive stroke.

On Thursday he was transferred to an intensive care unit following a seven-hour surgery to stop bleeding in his brain.
