MOSCOW, January 12 (RIA Novosti) - One Russian woman has been killed and six other nationals hurt in a traffic accident outside Bangkok, Thailand, on January 11, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Thursday.
All the victims came from the Siberian city of Kemerovo, the ministry said referring to a travel firm.
The ministry's press department said that the seven tourists were in a mini-bus when the accident occurred. The deceased has been named as Marina Mayer.
The six others were taken to hospitals in Bangkok with varying injuries.
"The Russian Embassy in Bangkok is providing the necessary assistance," the ministry said, adding that diplomats had been in touch with local police, travel and insurance companies, and hospital officials.
Initial reports suggest that the accident could have been caused by a technical fault in the mini-bus.
