TURIN, February 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russian hockey fans have every right to celebrate Wednesday after Russian men's hockey squad beat the United States 5-4 at the Winter Olympics in Turin.
In the last match in Group B, Russia's Alexander Korolyuk and Yevgeny Malkin scored in the first period, Andrei Markov in the second and Alexander Ovechkin in the third. Alexei Kovalev's crucial third-period goal earned his team the 5-4 win.
Russia, second in Group B, will play the fourth-place team in Group A, Canada, in a quarterfinal match February 22.
